Job Description: IT Engineer – Bristol

Summary

Leaf Systems Ltd is seeking to employ a motivated, personable and technically able IT Engineer for its clients. The post will be based at Leaf’s head office near Bristol, with extensive work conducted at client locations. Due to the nature of the work this position covered by The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order) 1975.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Build and maintain Windows based IT networks with a particular focus on LANs. • Troubleshooting Windows OS and Network Client machines. • Provides responses to internal clients in a timely manner. • Provide onsite support and troubleshooting for clients. • Installation of new networks and data migration. • Work in a secure environment professionally and responsibly. • Manage/Register supplier warranties • Organize equipment returns and repairs • Label and security mark new IT equipment • Assist in the administration and maintenance of Internal Systems including asset management.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems especially XP and Vista, Windows Server 2000, 2003. • Ideally holding or working towards a Microsoft accreditation • Ideally holding or working towards CompTIA accreditation (A+, N+, Server+ etc) • 3 years experience Maintaining and troubleshooting Windows based networks • Good knowledge of PC and Server hardware • Strong technical skills and ability to apply them with common sense • Full driving license • A “hands on”, flexible approach, with a sense of humour

Reporting

The post of IT Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer, escalating to the Head of Operations.

Salary: £19-25k p/a based on skills and experience
